GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
GenRev Auctions ensures, to the best of its knowledge, that all auctioned goods are authentic. Any item submitted to GenRev Auctions is considered for sale by auction, with a general description provided for its condition.
All items sold by GenRev Auctions are sold “voetstoots” (as is), unless clearly stated otherwise (e.g., New, Good Condition, Cracks and Chips, As It Stands, or for Spare Parts). Buyers are deemed to have fully informed themselves about the item, including any latent or patent defects, and agree to purchase the item subject to these conditions. By placing a bid or order, the buyer accepts these terms. Please ensure you are satisfied with the condition of the items before purchase, as cancellations are not permitted.
All commissions and additional charges on auction day are subject to VAT, where applicable.
GenRev Auctions reserves the right to reject any bid without providing a reason and may choose not to proceed with the sale of any item at any time, even after the conclusion of the sale. In such cases, GenRev Auctions will not be liable for compensation to any party for any reason.
GenRev Auctions reserves the right to impose transport charges for items that require collection and delivery to the auction venue. Currently, no transport and delivery services are available.
Returns/Refunds: Refunds and returns will only be considered if the seller has provided misleading information. Refunds will be at the seller’s expense, where applicable. Items collected by courier are not eligible for returns or refunds. Any queries regarding returns or refunds must be submitted within 7 days of the auction date. Orders and collections made after this period are not eligible for refunds as the seller will have already been paid.
Collection: Items may be collected after the auction is completed, Monday to Wednesday, between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. No collections will be allowed on Thursday and Friday unless arranged in advance via email or WhatsApp. GenRev Auctions is closed on weekends and public holidays. All items must be removed and paid for by 12:00 PM on the Wednesday before the next auction. Failure to do so will result in the transaction being reversed and the item re-auctioned unless alternative arrangements are made. Future bids may be blocked if collection is delayed. Track your orders in your “Account” to check their collection status.
Checkouts: You must complete the checkout process for all won bids once the auction closes, and no later than 10:00 AM the following day. Items not checked out will be relisted, and accounts may be closed or blocked. All goods must be collected within 7 days; extended storage is available at an additional cost. Bids will also be blocked if collection is not completed within the allotted time.
Payments: All bids are binding and must be paid immediately. Failure to pay within 48 hours will result in account suspension, and no further bids will be accepted while previous payments are outstanding. To avoid suspension, send proof of payment via WhatsApp or email to info@genrevauctions.co.za. Consideration will only be given if prior arrangements have been made with GenRev Auctions. Payments can be made via direct EFT, card machine (Yoco), or cash. Please note that a cash deposit fee, as determined by the bank, will be added to your account for cash payments. All cash payments will be verified before being accepted.
GenRev Auctions will group and list items at its discretion. No items will be tested, and goods will be sold as described by the seller.
GenRev Auctions reserves the right to update its Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy at any time. When changes are made, the updated date will be noted at the bottom of the page. Users are encouraged to check this page regularly to stay informed about any changes. By continuing to use our services, you acknowledge and agree to review these Terms & Conditions periodically.
SELLER TERMS
Items will be sold at the discretion of GenRev Auctions. Sellers must agree to any reserve prices in writing. GenRev Auctions is not responsible for any representations made by the seller. It is the seller’s responsibility to disclose all faults, repairs, or damages to items being sold. Items submitted for auction must be the seller’s property and not under any loan agreement, stolen, or under contract with a third party. Sellers acting on behalf of third parties must provide written authorization from the third party.
GenRev Auctions accepts items entirely at the seller’s risk. Sellers are responsible for obtaining insurance coverage for their items if needed. Refunds and returns will only be issued where the seller has provided misleading information.
Sellers will be paid within 14 days of the sale, provided the buyer has made full payment. Unsold items will be relisted for the next auction unless the seller requests removal. Items not removed within 48 hours of notification will incur a storage charge of 10% of the seller’s estimated selling price per week. GenRev Auctions reserves the right to sell items left uncleared for more than 7 days, by any means necessary, without notice.
Sellers must sign an indemnity form confirming ownership and item condition. GenRev Auctions will determine auction closing times, bid increments, and starting bids. Sellers must provide proper packaging for their items. If packaging does not meet GenRev Auctions’ standards, additional charges will apply. We charge an 18% seller’s commission plus R10 for the charity of your choice. VAT is levied on commissions where required.
BUYER TERMS
All buyers must register to bid, and approval may be delayed. In case of payment default, GenRev Auctions and the seller reserve the right to repossess and resell the item. The defaulting buyer will be liable for any associated costs. Items with reserves that are unsold are subject to seller confirmation.

The auction will run as a Timed Auction with staggered closing times, starting at 14:00 PM every Thursday, with subsequent lots closing at 1-minute intervals. A bid placed within the last 5 minutes will reset the closing time by 1 minutes.
